JALAPENO - It is a hot green or orange-red pepper. The plant's fruit is
a variety of Capsicum annuum. The pepper's hotness ranges from mild
to medium. It is used especially in Mexican cooking.
Thai Pepper - This plant produces large numbers of 1-inch green fruits
that mature to blazing red color with heat and flavor to match! These are
extremely hot, but not as hot as the Ghost pepper. This variety grows well
in hot, humid regions. Plants are compact, about a foot tall, and perfect
for containers. Great ornamental value. The colorful peppers last a long
time on the plant.
Ghost Pepper - The Bhut Jolokia, a k a ghost pepper, has been around
for many centuries. It is believed to have originated in Assam, India. The
word Bhut, given from the Bhutias people, means "ghost". It was only
ntroduced to the western world in 2000. In that same year, a report was
published stating it's level of heat as almost double that of a Red Savina
Habanero which was believed to be the world's hottest pepper. In 2007
the Ghost Pepper was certified as the hottest Chili Pepper on the planet
in The Guinness Book of World Records.
